Cedar Creek 38 FB2 Converter Location?
Hi,
I believe the converter on my 2016 Cedar Creek 38FB2 is not working. Anything A/C works perfectly, anything that runs on DC is dead. I have tried to locate the converter but can't find it. According to Cedar Creek customer support it should be in the front basement using a WFCO 9800 series converter. If it's there I can't find it.
I am currently charging the batteries with a charger I picked up at NAPA. Of course this only happens while traveling
Anyone have any suggestions?

i'm not familiar with your model. it took me a while to find the converter in my trailer. just a suggestion. look at the walls of the front basement to see if there are any access panels in the wall. I found a couple in mine. I took off one of the access panels and found the converter behind it.

Its in the basement.
Remove the panel that faces forward, on the back wall.

We had the same problem and it turned out it was the wires behind the battery on/off switch. We originally thought it was the converter then we thought it was one of the batteries cuz we have 4 but finally found it.

CC 38 FB2 converter location
Try this: Open the front storage bin and open the black door on the right side where the electronic components are located. Follow the red battery cable to where it's attached to the board. On the left side of the board where the cable connects, there's a little black button. Push it in , it may have tripped. This just happened to us in Florida . The batteries weren't charging. We called FR and Teck support for help and were about to call An RV serviceman in the park, when our friendly neighbor told us what to do. Good luck

Ok, with the help of and a (SHOUT OUT) to Ellis Gorman of the Roanoke, VA Camping World service department we located the converter. It is behind the fuse panel. Today I took the cover off the panel and found the positive battery wire had slipped out of the panel so there was no connection back to the battery.
Ellis is a true service manager. He took the time to come out to the trailer and spend 10-15 minutes of his time to help find the converter even though I did not have an appointment and there were others waiting. We need more the Ellis type at Camping World's around the country.

It is obvious that one thing that needs to be added to any rv PDI is "where is the?" This includes the converter, the water pump and the battery disconnect switch. There is a finite possibility that the dealer doesn't know either, but let them figure it out. Forest River seems to go to great lengths to hide some of these components and where they hide them depends on the model and floorplan. Add the inverter and push/pull water feed to a residential refrigerator.
A day doesn't go by on this forum where someone isn't looking for one or all of these and some are still looking.

I have a 2015 38 FB2 and the converter is in the front storage near the hydraulic valves and battery compartment. There is a fuse that may of blown and it is on the back right side bulkhead on mine.

Wow!! One model year difference and the location of the converters are radically different. I found mine behind the fuse panel. As it turns out the converter was fine. The problem was the wiring was never properly secured to the wiring bus, came loose and stopped supplying power to the converter. I'll keep my comments about quality to myself. You can judge yourself
