Cedar Creek 38 FL

Hello to all. We are looking at a 38FL. We found one we like. I will be replacing our TH. We enjoy riding the Harleys on trips. Just looking for comment on any pitfalls on these TT from anyone who is in the know.
Thanks in advance.
Jester

What truck do you have a F250 or F350? At 40 feet long and potential 15,500 pounds of weight for that fiver you will definitely want a dually. From experience the pin weight could exceed 3500 pounds and in reality approach 4000 pounds, so a dually is a necessity. Where are you going to put the bike? This is not a TT it is a fifth wheel.

donn,
I do have a 250, it shows to have 2540#s hitch weight. Does it really have that much pin weight? I am not going to buy another truck, so it could be dead deal. We like to ride more than to trailer there and ride, so not much need to keep the toy hauler.
Thanks
Jester

I'm guessing that the F250 is a bunch to small for that size of trailer.

Yes it will very likely have a pin weight of 4000 pounds. My 34CKTS at 35 feet and 13750 GVWR has s pin around 3200 pounds. And thats with only three slides. That monster will easily push 14500 when loaded ready to travel. For your F250 look for fivets closer to 30 feet long.

We just picked up Our 2013 38FL last week. I will scale it next week after getting it all loaded. But I was really surprised at how it pulled. We pull with A GMC 3500 Dually 8.1 Allison. Hit the road for A shakedown trip and it towed great. (for the giant that it is) I was real surprised. It heads back to the dealer for the front AC and some issues to be corrected, Then we will hit the road for A week and give it A real shakedown. Like others have said you will need A dually to pull one of these,

Happy Camping
