How do you rate the Cedar Creek?
In your opinion, where do you believe Forest River can make improvements and why?

All in all, really like it and have had minimal problems. My major complaint is it is a relatively upscale type trailer with nice layout etc, then they stick some cheapo stuff in that totally detracts from the quality of the unit. Have already replaced the kitchen and bathroom faucets. Probably have a problem with the shower door hinges (plastic) but not to the point it needs replacement yet. Added a bypass around the built in water filter. Had to take it back to the dealer to get the rangehood vented outside. Have replaced one screen door handle that broke (plastic) and am seriously thinking of taking the plastic guts to a machine shop to see if I can get a more durable one fabricated. As I said, overall We like it, just little stuff that could and should be taken care of. However if talking with friends that have a variety of makes of 5th wheels and trailers, they all have the same sort of stuff on theirs. Some more so than others but all have had something they didn't like or had to fix. Just seems that for what you pay for these babies, the quality control at the factory could be better. It seems they are where the car industry was in late 70's and early 80's.

I must say I have to agree with Sody. There was a period at GM (may be ongoing) where the perception was that the accountants were doing the designing, purchasing, and building. I have that perception with Cedar Creek. I get the impression that the final purchaser is the QC inspector and the dealer is the one who must fix assembly line problems. They seem to buy "cheap" products in volume, therefore can't change the final product even though many customers are complaining (tires, axles, plumbing fixtures). On the other hand, they have many fine characteristics that I really like. I will buy another Cedar Creek; I just know that I'm going to have to throw in some extra bucks to replace some of the items that I don't like.

I agree with Sody and Whooboy. Love my CC. A 2003 30RLBS. Had what I consider minor problems with the kitchen faucet and replaced it. Will be doing the same with the bathroom sink. The TV antenna does seem to want to work as its all fuzz> Have y replace the booster but no change. Using cable mostly so will let the antenna go for a while. Had a problem with the AC and found a problem with the return air duct and had to reseal it to channel the air correctly. Was icing up. Have a minor problem with the sliding door between kitchen and bedroom. The strap allows the door to move to much when on the move. Temp fixed it with a plug in the bottm plastic guide to anchor it. Read some where that using an old kitchen cabinet lock would hold it steadier. Have taken out the plastic holders on the master closet doors and replace them with couple of wooden dawels when on the move. I'm no longer scratching my forarm on the sharp corners.
Would like to see the industry come with a better grey and black water monitor. As I said at the start I do love my CC.

We like our Cedar creek also. Just hope that they don't sacrifice quality and try to build too many too fast.

I agree that there are things that can be fixed. Our pantry door won't open all the way because the "decoration" on the slideout stops it. I put some soft velcro on the corner of the pantry door so that it doesn't get all banged up every time we open the pantry door. It's annoying, to say the least, that the door doesn't open all the way.

That stupid little nightlight in the center of the main slide is completely useless and burnt out within six months. We haven't bothered to replace it because of it's uselessness. (Is that even a word?)

We've had our kitchen and bath faucets replaced. The bath faucet appeared to be "peeling." The kitchen faucet simply decided not to work any more this spring (no water coming out, no idea why as we had winterized properly. Water came up the pipe, but refused to come out of the faucet (no obstructions -- very strange and even the dealer couldn't figure it out). They replaced it for us while we were on the road on our way to the RV.Net Indiana rally in April by taking a new faucet out of a CC on their lot and putting it in ours so we could be on our way. AWESOME service by Janesville RV, to be sure! Can't say enough about good things about our dealer!

The plastic stoppers that hold the sliding mirrored closet doors in the bedroom have been replaced twice and are once again broken. We've taken to having both doors on one end (leaving one side open) and putting a board in there to keep the doors from sliding back and forth while driving. I'm sure it's because it gets so cold up here, but there's got to be a better fix for that silly little problem. We just need to figure out what it is.

We've heard of others having problems with the bunkhouse door and/or pantry door coming open while driving down the road and causing problems when you try to open the slide. We decided to make sure we don't have that problem by using a bungee cord from the bunkhouse to the pantry. There's NO WAY it can open now!

The only other problem we've had is that the factory "forgot" to install our surround sound. That's since been installed (some by the dealer, some by the factory), but I'm sure it wasn't done properly as there's very little bass from the subwoofer and we have "static" from the speakers, and frankly, the quality stinks. I think we'll end up at some point putting in some GOOD speakers and making sure the wiring is actually attached properly. This spring, when we're at the International Rally, I want to listen to other folks' surround sound and see how it compares to ours . . .

Overall, I LOVE our Cedar Creek, and frankly, can't get over how beautiful they are! Would we buy another? YOU BET! All the issues I've outlined are quite minor, especially compared to some of the problems I've heard from other folks.

we like ur 36rlts, its layout is great, we to have the cupboard door you cant open all the way due to a interference with the slide out trim board.

we spent about a week and a half cleaning and sealing holes after we took delivery. i pulled the cover vent off the heater and it was full od sawdust, as was every spot you couldnt see without a flashlight.
got some big stuff foam and sealed all the little spots for bugs and cold air to find its way in.
spent a day adding some much needed insualtion foam boardstt the inside of the front compartmanet to stop the drafts up to the bedroom.

removed the shower enclosure and sealed it with a marine sealant (polysulfide), the silicone from the factory leaked excessivley

spent a few hours tying up loose wires with cushion clamps or zipties,

added wine glass rack under the wall cabinet
added a supprt leg to the upper cabinet that hangs over the sink.
added one more counter extension
moved the lazy susan to the upper cabinet where you can actually get to it
added cup hlders to the bottom of the cabinet over the sink
insulated the refer chimney flue to keep the hot air out of the kitchen cabiets and added a small fan to draw air through the refer flue to aid in cooling


insulated the ducted a/c vents, they were left raw and unsealed which meant cold air was blowing into the attic space and not in the coach

replaced the red hot bedroom spt lamps with nice bright leds, NO more burned fingers

removed the silly fabric sliding door between the bedroom and the bshower area

added a flusher for the galley tank

moved the rear stablizer jacks forward about 8 feet

went back to a queen sized bed

moved the cabinet in the laundry closet to the side vice in teh middle , this freed up space for the dogs folding kennel and a small step ladder

We love our Creek. Very little we would change, and then mostly cosmetic. We've had a great time so far in it.

My 2007 Cedar Creek 362BTS is the best fifth wheel I have ever owned. Excellent fit and finish both inside and outside. High quality gel coat fiberglass exterior that looks great.

In four years of use, we have replaced two interior door knobs and three day/night shades. Very reliable, very well built, and a great value for the money.

We had a 2001 29RKBS. Absolutely loved that thing. Had traded up from a 24' TT, cause the wife wanted more room.Only had a few minor issues that were fixed by the dealer under warranty. We really wanted to take our motorcycle along, and every one advised me against adding all of that weight to the back of that trailer. Bought a 2008 Raptor from Keystone, and it's been nothing short of HORRENDOUS. Not only is the workmanship suspect, (Already had to have two slide units repaired) but the interior is like comparing a Hyundai to a Lincoln. Used a different dealer (Camping World in Churchville,NY) and they have also been a HUGE disappointment and Keystones' service is HORRIBLE. Sure do miss my Cedar Creek!!!!
