Commode idea?

Maybe it's already out there and I just haven't found it, but refilling the bowl after flushing seems more tedious than it really needs to be. You get the water level almost where it need to be and press a tiny bit too hard on the pedal and (crap) you have to start the process all over again.

Why can't the flush pedal be made with a detent to refill the bowl, so you hit the detent that let's you know if you push harder the bowl will flush?

Can it be so hard? Or am I over-thinking this?

Mine is all push - no pull..... From the Dometic "owner's manual":

7.1 Add water to bowl
To add water to the toilet, press the flush pedal
part way down. Water flows into the bowl while
flush ball remains closed. If the flush ball moves,
let up on the pedal slightly. Adding water to an
empty bowl helps prevent holding tank odors from
entering the living space. Adding water is recommended
prior to flushing solids and toilet paper.
7.2 Flush toilet
To flush, press pedal down until it contacts the
floor. Release pedal after complete flush.
• When flushing liquids, press the pedal for 1-2 seconds.
• When flushing solids, press pedal until contents are rinsed from bowl. Flushing longer than
necessary will cause holding tank to fill too quickly.
A small amount of water will collect in the bowl after a flush to create an airtight seal.

Mine is a sea land traveler porcelin bowl. Guess they changed things. Changing toilets is pretty easy for a better model. Maybe Santa will bring you a new one for Christmas?

Ours is all push - our old Laredo had pull up to fill and push to flush

Old school Dutchmen had two hand levers on side - one to fill and one to flush
