Diamond plate

I am going to Alaska next month and I was going to put a rock guard on back of truck. Someone suggested that I put diamond plate in front of camper. Has anyone with a Cedar Creek done this? The rock guard will cost me fuel mileage and so will mud flaps. I just need some advice from Cedar Creek owners. I have seen the diamond plate on travel trailers but I don't know about fifth wheels

Most any in my RV circle of friends tow with Rock Guard / Rock Tamer / the full width receiver mount whiskers and I've not heard one of them say a word about cutting fuel mileage. I have a dually with mud flaps a couple of inches wider than the duals and saw no difference in mileage after install. Even at a discount yard store, aluminum tread plate is going to be pricey, if you don't have the tools or skill ... install will be on top of that. That being said, I have seen tread plate on a fiver or two about to the top of the cargo door on each side behind the tires.
