We use a Dish Tailgater. Most of the time we take it up and set it up on the roof with the cable run down to the input on the camper. Sometimes we have to set it up on the ground to get clear access to the Southern sky.

we like it.

Had 1. Worst experience in my camping life. X1. [emoji106]
Last Fall, FL state park; guy x had his on top of his truck, 3 different positions. He was handicapped. His son and grandkids were right next to me. Could not get a signal.
He gave up. Just say'n from my experience. But, then, that's why they make cars, suv's etc [emoji15][emoji23].

I have Dish at home and take one of my receivers with me for use in my 5er, I use a Pathway X2 sat antenna and get the Ark locals where ever I go. No extra fees

hook the cable from the tailgater to the input on the outside of your camper. The input will run to behind your TV.

There may be a splitter there or a box so you can switch from games to TV. We don't play games so I removed the switch.

The input wire behind the TV goes to your cable box input. So far, all the connections are coax cable.

The output from your cable box goes to the back of the TV. On our box it is an HDMI cable connecting the box to the TV. Some boxes have coax. It depends on what TV and box you have.

Then it is merely a matter of turning it on and selecting the correct input from your TVs settings menu

If possible do all this at home so you don't have to fool with it when you get to the camping spot and are setting everything up. Just remember to point the Tailgater SOUTH. The handle of the tailgater should be pointing North.

Most likely you have one of more cheap coax splitters between your outside and inside connection. Locate these and replace with power pass-through splitters rated for satellite. Most seem to be located behind the wall plate or in a storage area.

What Satellite Antenna do I need

So I just want to take my Hopper3 from my house and hook to a new satellite antenna in the CC. What antenna can I buy? They all seem to take Walleys or 211. I want to stay as cheap as possible and don't mind taking my home Hopper3 on the road, just need to know what to hook it to. Also don't care what it looks like or aiming the antenna.

thanks
Greg

Just go to an apartment complex and get a regular satellite dish that someone left behind. They usually just let you have them. Or get on Craigslist or similar and look for one. Then just Google how to aim it. Easy and cheap.

Doesn't it need to be something special? one that gets all of the sats I want and HD? I know not all of them are the same. Maybe any dish, but you need a certain LNB right?

Sounds good, was just looking over their site. I'm thinking the 1000.2 is what I need. I will give them a call. Thanks!

Nope, just get a dish that says DishHD. Our friends do it all the time. If it doesn't come with a stand, buy a cheap tripod or mount on a board. It's just the same dish you use at home.
