Dometic Awning Recall on my Cedar Creek

I just called Dometic with the VIN# of my 2014 Cedar Creek 34 RLSA and the Serial number of my Dometic Awning and it was on the recall list. They are going to find a service provider in my area to come out and replace the motor (or that is what I thought they said).
The recall states that in April, "the Company (Dometic) determined that if an important step was bypassed in the installation of the power awning, this could potentially damage the awning's motor. As a result, if damage does occur to the motor, the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, while the coach or vehicle is at rest or in transit."

I just heard of the recall while on another web site. Went out to the Cedar Creek, took a picture of the awning build sticker and called Dometic.

Everyone with a late 2013 or early 2014 Cedar Creek should check their awning.

I was contacted by Dometic and if I remember right it was only for awnings made Feb-April 2013.

Follow up on the Dometic awning recall. Just got the new motor installed on my Dometic 9100E awning. Dometic sent the motor to a mobile repair shop nearby and in less than a week from the time I called Dometic and gave them my unit information, the installation is complete. Only took 30 minutes. The difference I saw between the one that was taken off and the new one, was the one that was recalled had a plastic wheel on the end of the shaft and the new one had a aluminum wheel at the end of the shaft. Picture of the recalled motor attached.
I have read that some people have mentioned that their awning extended and retracted a little slower after the new motor was installed. Just the opposite for mine, it was very slow before the new motor was installed, it now retracts and extends somewhat faster, much like my previous Sabre/Dometic awning. Very pleased with Dometic's response.

Is there a date stamp somewhere on these? I'm contacting FR to see if I'm affected.

Being the pack rat that I am, I would save the old motor, you could possibly take the alum gear off the new one and put it on the old motor should you have a need.

There should be a label on the awning tube with the assembly date and serial number.

We have a 2009 Silverback and have had to replace the motor 3 times, I am so afraid to use it because it has failed so many times we are considering a regular retractable awning,
