Door sticking

Has anyone had issues with the front door sticking on the 38EL? If so, what did you have done to correct it? Each time we have gone camping the door sticks more both at the top and bottom.

Thanks

Does the door stick when NOT on stabilizers? What kind of levelers/stabilizers are on your unit?

If it sticks ONLY after you have leveled it, then it sounds like the frame is twisting to the point that the door is now cattywompus in the opening. If it sticks all the time, it sounds like the door or opening were not cut properly.

The only time I had a door sticking problem was on my TT with manually operated stabilizer jacks. If I put too much lifting pressure on one of the corners, the door would stick.

I have a 17 38el and mine only stuck at the top. It was hitting on the little rain flashing. Take a block of wood put a wash cloth over it an tap it with a hammer. I also wd40 the lock and hinges. Works great now.

Our Cedar Creek 38CK is now starting to stick. The leveling system says it's level. The part that is sticking isn't the door itself but rather the screen door latch. It doesn't release when we open the door. Anyone know of any fixes?

This can start to happen if someone should use the screen door as an entry/exit assist. Any "weight" applied to the screen door while entering/exiting the RV can bend the aluminum hinges just enough so that the door has become askew in the opening. This happen'd to us when a guest used the door as an assist while climbing the stairs. I was able to "re-tweek" the hinge enough to allow the screen door to open/close without sticking.

Dunno, but my door sticks (rather did) and was hard to open because the screen door was rubbing at the top of the frame and would hangup. The door didn't hit, but like I said the screen door did.

If that might be the case with your's. I fixed by opening the door, then the screen door enough to get a hand on it at the top... on the side away from the hinges... and pulled down by hand with enough force to bend / reshape it "tweak it" is one way of saying it. I was kind of surprised that it worked. I had looked at it and put up with it for quite sometime before I bent the sucker by hand.

My doors also get hard to close... the striker plate gets rusty, so I sand it until its slick then rub a candle where the latch strikes liberally and it works for months until I need to repeat.

Thanks to all for the responses, think I'm going to lower the jacks and see if it makes a difference. Take any possible tweaking out and see where it stands.
