When you run four 6v battery's, you need to run two groups of 6v battery's in parallel, and then hook up the two groups in series. If you hook all 4 together in series you end up with 24v. If you hook them in parallel you end up with 6v. I hope that helps.

Maybe the dealer's doing it that way for him at special request. The 'second battery' option on my TT was a dealer-installed thing and both batteries were the same so I think the dealer supplied them both. The only thing the factory did was have two battery trays.

And hasn't it been mentioned here that the provision of batteries is a dealer thing anyway? Especially with stock units, the factory has no idea how long they'll sit on the lot - why would they ship batteries that could die before the unit is sold?

My 5er came with a 12v that wasn't all that large and would run down in a week just because of all the tiny drains from electronics, etc. I bought the largest deep cycle marine battery at Wally world and added it (in parallel, of course). Have never had a problem with the mix and it has been that way over a year and a half.

That is correct, 2 6 volts in series to make 12 volts, then each set in parallel gives me 440 amps.

It is important to note that the wires must be connected exactly like in Turbs drawing to allow each battery to be properly charged and discharged.

If both load wires are connected to the same 6 volt "pair" the second 6 volt "pair" will loaf and the lead set will have their life permanently shortened.

Batteries store power, We are running 2 thinking of added 3. We charge them either by converter or 2 180 watt solar panels, depending if we are RV park or dry camping. Generator for back up power and to run AC if needed, we also have an Inverter.
