I carry 5, 5 gallon diesel fuel jugs, the most I have ever needed to use on one drive was 3.

If you have to get one, please spend the 700-$800 for an aftermarket fuel filter system that does a better job filtering and separating water, ESPECIALLY if you own a Ford 6.7L.
Side note even more important to Ford owners in general, ALWAYS use Motorcraft filters. The fuel filters have a water blocker barrier to help avoid the costly repairs. Most aftermarket cheap filters don't. Don't be cheap, be sure to change them before there's a problem, not when it's too late.
This has been a Ford public service announcement. [emoji1]

Phew.....I was beginning to think I was being cheap by not spending a $1000 on an auxiliary fuel tank. I also have 5 x 5 gallon diesel jugs. I haven't used them yet but plan on taking them with me as I drive across Canada in the summer. By my reckoning, it should give me about an extra 450km between fuel stops and should certainly ensure I get to my planned destination for the day. At which point I can un-hitch and take the truck to fill up then. I seemed to think my truck had about a 35 - 40 gallon tank which gives me about 650km when towing.

FYI. 37.5 gallon fuel cap on a 2016 6.7 diesel crew cab on 158" and 172" wheelbases

Just ordered an ATI 46 gallon in-bed tank which will fit under my bed cover and forward of the OEM 5th Wheel pucks. This is a gravity feed.

The absolute worst part of RVing is looking for fuel, especially now that Diesel is so high at truck stops. I use to use Flying J but it you look around some regular stations will be 10 - 30 cents a gallon cheaper.
