The factory paid for having my front cap repainted, got the check today. My Cedar Creek I brought in 2015, a 32RL. The front cap was replaced the first time it faded, the rear cap was replaced because it faded. I have a camper that was built in 2014 that looks brand new. My Cedar Creek has slide pans installed on the camper that was paid for by the factory that is not installed on campers coming off the assembly line. I have been treated fantastic by the factory. I’m to old to trade again but the 36CK2 looks great

WE too have been treated fantastic by the CC folks (Denise Davis, who has now been promoted)....to the tune of several thousand dollars....all free on our Silverback....which is why we turned around and bought our Signature Hathaway.

Agree with Spock123....we loved the 36CK2, but it was just too long for the way we have to park it in our driveway....the 34RL2 fits perfectly. We still love it, but the extra length would have been great had it fit.

Denise Davis was awesome, Shawna E Short was great. The last person I talked to was Morgan Underwood. Everything was approved, Morgan handled sending me my check. To save time I paid the shop for repainting the cap, I then sent Morgan the paid invoice and Cedar Creek sent the check. $1966. The camper looks brand new. Cedar Creek is awesome!!!!!!

Wow. I wish Palomino would do the same for their customers. My 2014 front cap is nasty and looking into large $$$ to have it fixed.

Cedar Creek replaced our front cap, but that's because they had to remove it to repair the structural failures that severely wrecked our trailer front and closet. Denise also had several other things replaced that we didn't even ask about.

WE hope the fantastic service continues.....

I think the Fading Caps both front and rear is the main reason Cedar Creek has stopped putting the rear caps on their units except their top of the Line model. along with the other manufactures doing the same thing. I am sure that the Champagne model is the only one with a rear cap now

Maybe those of you who were able to get your caps replaced years past warranty could help Rollingdunder out and mention to your contacts he's having issues getting help.

The Hathaway and Champagne are built exactly alike except for the rear cap. I bet you could get Orvan Fry to install a rear cap on a brand new Hathaway. I know the rear caps have to be replaced in a rear accident. I wouldn’t be surprised if you aren’t right about the reason for stopping the rear caps. But then again it’s probably a money thing, keeping costs down. Keystone Montana fifth wheels stopped putting the rear caps on unless you ordered the Legacy package. I wish Cedar Creek had done the same thing. Now the only way you can get a rear cap on the Hathaway is go around it.

Totally agree with camper1999, its absurd that we pay what we pay for RVs and the general lack of quality. The american car industry pushed sub quality on us until the Euro and Asian influx of products forced a quality reset on american cars. It would be nice if the RV industry were to study the car industry's mistakes and stay ahead of the curve.

That’s one thing the rv manufactures don’t have to worry about is foreign competition

Here the latest word I received

I am sorry that you are having this issue. As of January 1st, 2019, we are not in that program any longer. We were given new guidelines to follow. If there was no documentation prior to January 1st, then we would respectfully decline any participation in this matter. However, that being said, I have attached instructions given to us by the vendor to try and assist.
As of 2019 all guidelines for cap goodwill has been discontinued.
Below are the instruction from Betterway for restoring the luster.

You can buff and polish til the cows come home. It will continue to fade. Paint is the only answer.

Like he said^

Buff and polish can restore the gloss, but it won't cure colors fading. Repainting with a good two stage (color coat plus clear) is the answer. Many of the current automotive pigments are far less prone to color fade than just a couple of years ago!

Our 2016 Silverback 33IK has the same issue and we were told that as of Jan. 1st they are not participating in the program any longer.
We are going to try the Maquires three step program before we look into getting the front cap repainted.

Should send them back your new guidelines for purchasing your next RV from somebody else.
