Fireplace overheats on 2019 36ck2
It's made by classic flame model number 36hf320fgt. If the outside temp is 40 or less it seems to run fine as long as you you pull it out a couple inches. Warmer than that it gets error code E3 in a few seconds. Any other people have this?

There have been a couple posts here about the fireplace overheating and error code E3.
Going back and looking at a few of them, it seems no one really posted an answer to the problem
They all did as you... pull it out several inches and it seems to work OK.
Maybe there isn't sufficient venting for fresh air to get in as the heated air is blown out?
I'm merely speculating.

Electric Fireplace
Ours is 2019 Silverback.I tried the fireplace today and about two minutes it had E3 on Screen, and would not reset.I figured flip the breaker for a few seconds and flip it back on and it has been doing fine.It seems to be doing fine.Ran about 30 minutes and I turned it off.

Overheat
Had the same issue. Called company and the sent me a new blower fan. Changed it and it works perfect. Only has 4 wires. The hardest part is taking all the screws out. Never had to pull it out anymore..

I have a 2018, but had the same problem. Upon inspection I found that the drawer behind the fire place was covering part of the air intake to the fan. I took a router and made a hole over the intake. I have had no problems since doing that.

We have a 2019 Cedar Creek 34RL2.....we watched a video that said to pull out the fireplace so that the top intake vent is fully exposed...which will allow better airflow. We haven't had to use ours too much, but we never got the E3 code....and when used, it ran several hours.

Same problem with 2018 cedar creek
I solved the problem by putting two small computer fans on the back side near the top. There are vent fins there and I can close the fireplace with no problem. Put in a switch so I can turn power off to the fireplace as this E3 error requires you to unplug the fireplace to reset it. Before I installed the small computer fans the unit would only run for about 30 to 45 minutes when I got the E3 code. Now I can run all night with no issue. The fireplace does a great job heating the camper.

Bounce Out Fireplace
Our 2017 Cedar Creek Champagne fireplace keep bouncing open on our trip to CA from SC. After a few thousand miles the drawer slide broke loose from the little screws and tilted the fireplace to where it cut the power cord 1/4 inch from the unit case. After considering all that unused space in that cubbyhole we decided to remove the fireplace and put in cabinet doors. Lots of storage there.
Since we don't winter camp, we have a 1500 watt little heater, 3/4 shoe box size, stored in case we need it. Lots of extra storage now and same amount of heat stored away in a little basket. The RV cleaner in Petaluma, CA really appreciated the fireplace for his bedroom at home.
We also took out the wine cooler and wine shelf and made more storage with cabinet doors. Wine works well in the big fridge.

I have a 2016 36ckts, my fireplace does not pull out. Please sent picture of yours. However 2 times over the last 3 years it stopped working. Put vacuum over air vent to suck out dust. Worked fine. No error codes, just status light flashed.

Let me try that with a jpeg file rather than pdf:
Now, I have to work on getting it off it's side.

We have the exact same model on à 2019.5 Hathaway. One of the 4 control buttons failed during the PDI. Suggest you have your dealer contact CC .... good news/bad news...as they sent a new fireplace unit to be installed. But it's 6 inches wider which means some oscillating saw modification to make it fit. Thankfully the DW was not available to watch the sawdust fly on her brand new camper. I wonder if she will notice the slightly larger fireplace!

Here is our solution...if you are still in the warranty period ask CC for replacement.

So... is that a replacement fireplace or am I missing something you are trying to point out with the photo?

This photo shows the OP what a new replacement from CC looks like. Haven't even loaded up our stuff from the old camper and we're cutting holes with an oscillating saw for a fireplace that is 6 inches wider. Punch list from the PDI now complete.
