Flapper seal in "Black Tank" CC 29RE

When my spouse was cleaning the toilet bowl with a brush the flapper seal came off and fell down into the black water tank......Has not been a continuous problem but on a couple of occasions TP must get caught up at the drain opening (with seal) and nearly stops flow. Any suggestions on how to "fish" out the seal.......stiff wire with a hook up drain pipe?????

A wire with a hook might work provided it is still in the pipe that connects the toilet to the tank. I have a set of 'Chinese Fingers' on a flexible shaft that works well to fish stuff out of hard to reach places.

Once it gets into the tank... all bets are off.

I have a inspection camera that came with tools. One of the tools is a hook type that one could use to pull the seal back up the waste pipe. The flexible cable for my unit is about 3 feet long. Has a built in light also so you can see in the dark places. Just one more idea here of a way to get the seal out. BTW the cleaning procedure for the toilet says nothing about a household brush use due to that little seal. Good luck with the training of the wife here LOL.

Were you ever able to fish it out? My seal went down into the black tank yesterday. Not looking forward to this project. Also, how hard was it to install a new seal?

Did you replace the seal yourself, or did your dealer fix it for you? How hard was it?

Yes I did.....Turn off water and I put some paper in hole in case I dropped new seal....My wife held flapper open and I installed new seal.....Just feel that seal is set on flapper!!! It would be easier to remove toilet and install seal BUT I was lazy!!!!!! J
