Flooring Replacement

I've got a 2013 36CKTWS. I've replaced the main linoleum and carpet with vinyl plank, and am now looking at the slides. The driver side/small slide is easy, but I can't see a way to do the big/passenger slide without leaving an unsightly gap. When the slide is pulled all the way in, it's only a half inch from the island, so I can't extend the floor far enough to cover the gap between the slide and the main floor when the slide is deployed. Has anyone done this? At this point, I've resigned myself to getting replacement carpet to deal with it.

I be used a metal edge like you would use on a floor transition between rooms. Attached to a rubber seal like on the outside edge on a garage door in a previous rv

So, did the rubber seal cover the gap then?
