Jaygeo1 you might want to check this article out. Shows the designing a RV. Since our very rear end is tall we don't have the issue with the rack dragging on exiting parking lots.

Folds up out of the way when not in use.

Swagman makes a bike carrier designed for RV use. The main difference between the two types of carriers, is the welding is heavier. Not sure if the swagman comes in 1.25" or not though. To me, the 1.25" is only heavy enough to carry a hitch cover with a bottle opener.

I plan to get rid of the factory hitch and install a hitch that I can slide in and out. I saw one on a travel trailer that gave me the idea. I plan to bolt it on the frame, I sometimes need a place to put my generators on when I dry camp at Walmart or wherever. I have no plans on hauling anything on it down the road

My Thule TH990XT is 1.25 with an adapter around it that makes it 2.0. Used it on my Roo for 3 years, no problems.
No mention of RV yea or nay in the paperwork.

Adding the "Accessories"
Got the Pro Series Q-Slot platform-style 2 bike carrier.(approved for hitch equipped 5th wheels). Haven't travelled with it yet....waiting for the rear camera to get here so I can keep an "eye" on the bikes. The hitch on our 2016 29RE is rated for 150 lbs. The next accessory to consider is to Cover or Not Cover? We live in Michigan. I am wondering what the Forum Members think about this. The Silverback will be stored out in the open. We can have over 30+ inches of snow in a season.

After raising our children in the snow belts of Chicago and Syracuse, NY, I would cover it if it were mine. Breaks in the spring thaws and more snow and on and on, present the opportunity for potential leaks. The BEST REASON is the ability to run a snow brush across the piled snow for removal without knocking something loose and creating a problem. The newer covers seem to be well made.
Alternative is to pay for a covered storage facility or hook that thing up and drag it below the frost belt and stow it there. Plenty of storage in Florida as retirees use their rigs all winter. Orlando provides the opportunity for winter storage and a Spring trip to Disney!!
