Front cap decals

Has anybody have this happen. There is red bleeding through the white decals on front cap. Only on front. Can't figure it out. I thought I hit a bird but its the entire front silverback decal.

Looks like the white was put on top of the red and sun has broken the sticker down. Think I would check on getting replaced if new enough.

Just started about 2 months ago. It's a 2014 but bought it used. Not under warranty. The decals are on top of grey paint. Showed pictures to my dealer today he said he has never seen this before.

Call the factory, all vinyl has 5 year warranty. Then send them your pictures, don't mess with dealer until you talk with factory, then let them deal with them.

Hope this helps and God bless,
Mike

There two layers to the decal the bottom could be red mine are gray under it on a Rockwood. I never heard of a 5 year warranty on them.

Washing camper with certain types of cleaners will effect the decals. Be careful on what you use. I think this may have been mentioned at one of the seminars at Goshen. Later RJD

I have had 3 bear decals on my 2015, 33rl. Dealer says flawed decals. Also, like others, had a cap fade. ( repaired, but concerned. Looks like fading at top) Bear decal still issue. I originally liked the brown cap until the issues of fade, etc; started being a problem! I have to think the 2016 return to a light cap has to do with performance vs preference.
FR continues to be VERY SUPPORTIVE in our year 2 of FR Warranty. I am confident we will get through this and enjoy our Silverback for years to come!
I would buy another FR product today, just more educated. Like, dual pane windows, ducted quiet ac, 4 steps, built in vac system, full day-night shades throughout, latches to hold those slamming bay doors on a windy day.....live & learn. Except for the ducted ac; I will eventually add the comfort items.
Latches first. All latch ideas and success advice appreciated.

I only wash camper with Dawn and water. Most of the time just water. Top of cap is fading. But don't know if that has any thing to do with it. I'm 2nd owner so no warranty.

Cap fade

No, it has nothing to do with using Dawn.
The fade is from oxidation from direct sun rays. If you look around, seems lighter colors hold up for a longer period of time. Eventually most fade, i heard gray and brown are the biggest problems. Thus, I believe this is the reason FR has gone to the lighter cap again.

I know it's not the dawn. I use it to wash everything with no problems . the bleeding with the decals is only happening with the silverback logo on the front cap. All the other white decals are fine. By the way my cap is grey.

I just sent 4 pictures to Henry, Jeff at the factory, and my dealer yesterday. Same exact thing.
Looks aweful, 21/2 years old and it's doing this. It's just wrong, manufactures have been making fiberglass cars for years without this issue of fading, not to mention the decals!!
Hoping there going to say, " it will be taken care of"!!

Anxious to hear what the say. My 5er came of the line in July of 2003 . that's just 2 years from when it started for me. I knew about the fade problem but never seen decals bleed like that. Ordered a set of the black ones the other day. $30.00.

I picked this one up in Feb 2014 new as a 2013 leftover. Defiantly will post what happens. This is only my 2nd full season with it.

Just wanted to update on my front cap/ decal issue. I heard from Henry, Cedar Creek Div East Coast. Basically saying they would replace my front cap and decals, all labor and materials covered. But, would not cover cost of transportation or lodging. That was a week ago tomorrow . My dealer is involved too and told them that was unacceptable because if it's a known issue the factory should be covering all cost even if out of warranty. He said he would get back to us when he knows, wonder how long I should wait before the factory thinks I forgot about it?
Saw on the forum Primetime having same issues with caps, seems like a industry problem??
More to follow.

Mike
