Furrion camera

I wanted to know if my rear view furrion camera should be on all the time? Its wired up to be powered up as long as the battery or 120 volts is hooked up.Our cedar creek was wired up that way from the factory to be hot all the time. In order to shut it off I need to turn the battery disconnect off. Seems to me the camera will not last to long that way,any thoughts?

Mines wired into the running lights have to turn the running lights on the tv on to power up the camera . That’s how the factory prewired mount came and my dealer installed the camera .

That's how our flagstaff was wired but the 34IK we just got is not wired that way which seems like it was wired up wrong.

I think I’d change that seams like it wouldn’t be good for it to stay on all the time and it’d be a pain to have to turn off the battery disconnect maybe you could put a switch on the camera circuit but it think I’d just wire it in to the running lights

Many drivers find continuous observation cameras useful.

It is wired that way on purpose, if your RV is prewired for the side cameras like mine it's part of the security package so you can view a monitor from inside your RV and see around it. The sensor in the camera won't be damaged by it being on all the time.
