Cap choice
Let me be more clear. Mine was one of the early issues. We were AT the factory and it ( by chance) had both caps side by side. The Mocha was scheduled for a build. It was the new paint process.
We were offered the OYSTER, as a result of a change on the line.
The OYSTER was there. The original MOCHA would require an order and shipment to Atlanta. That's why we were offered the choice. Otherwise, we would have gone with the Mocha.
"now you have the rest of the story" 😄

First I was denied by the extended warranty people. That policy is administered by Assurance. They don't cover paint or anything like paint whatsoever.
Next I emailed Denise at FR. She told me I was not eligible for any consideration because I am not the original owner. I bought it last July 13, 2016 The camper was put into service July 1, 2014. Supposedly Camping World Of Myrtle Beach (I bought from them) went over the entire camper very thoroughly. As it turns out the missed a number of issues including the clear coat.
I believe I am out of options as well as $1200.00.

Unfortunately, you are "likely" correct! Take the $$ hit, paint it and move forward. As far as warranties; was in car bz for 35 years. Never bought a non mfg warranty. Always seem to have a clause that excludes your need.
Enjoy your rv.

We will be going to Indiana in May to get our front and back replaced. They offered us $700. Or come to Indiana!

Sounds about right Jokerbgood. They offered us $500 until they found out we were going to the rally.

My guess would be that your Day Dreamer would be out of luck. According to the latest from Frog Bob, the service at the rally will be concentrated on units that are 4 years old and newer. Also the service will be for issues that would have been covered under the factory warranty.

If you live a good ways from the factory I think it would be just as cheap to get someone to fix it for you. I took my camper to the factory for cap replacement and after I counted everything up I would have broke even just to have it redone locally, it was a long trip plus the campground fees

The factory says no, I had my front cap replaced and was told that the rear may fade too. If it does I'll make a decision then on what to do. I'm going to the rally this year.

I have a 36ckts and my brown was fading after awhile and I took it into camping world for, other repairs and they told me forest river knows that the brown fades and was a problem. They painted my front and rear caps for free. They even did a shitty job and I told them hell no and they got it right the second time.
