I see the Silverback does not come with the on demand hot water heater, it has a 10gal gas/electric. I see if you want the RV refrigerator it's 8cf in the Silverback

Don't think the Silverback has the day/night shades which are very nice at reducing heat from the sun during the day. Once when we were in your position and shopping for a unit I knew all these differences but not now.
For us, we did like the cathedral slide ceiling because you can't put a slide topper awning; but thats just us. One significant exterior appearance difference is the rear caps. Hathaway has a molded fiberglass cap similar in design to the front cap where the Silver back has material like the side panels.
Also, something with the axels or tires is different since the Hathaway is taller. But a noted above, the CC website lays out all the features and I think there is a printer friendly view so you can print and compare everything.

We like the cathedral slides inside but not outside. We like the awning slide toppers. We also like the rear caps

Build is exactly the same. Cheaper cabinets, lower grade furniture, different floor plans. Options on a Silverback are usually standard on a regular Cedar Creek.

The frame is different. Hathaway uses the drop "Z" frame. Silverback does not.

The drop "Z" frame provides a flat floor in the pass thru storage compartment. In the Silverback, the floor has a step up, about 1-1/2' inside the door.

Look in the Gallery at the picture of the storage compartment.
Cedar Creek Silverback Edition Fifth Wheels by Forest River RV

Also the cabinets are made different. All real wood vs wood doors.

The battery compartments are different.

6000 lb axles vs 7000 or 8000
One piece shower in Hathaway
Caps are different
Cabinet wood different

If I was buying today I'd put independent suspension on either on immediately. ..and disc brakes...so if I got a Silverback I'd be increasing axle size anyway.

Uhhh; $20 to $30,000 more. Desire, vs use vs pocket depth.
Pull a Silverback with a 2500 diesel. Hathaway 3500 dually. Add another $30,000 for that puppy.
I pay cash. No liens. No payments.

We travel frequently without an RV.
Just came back from 2 great weeks in Alberta. Booked for December in Germany. Love camping; but there is more to see for us. Do what makes YOU happy.
Know your plan and go for it. We use our 2015 Silverback 33rl about 90 days a year. Keep it in a private mountain resort. February brings us back to RV'ing for 2 weeks in Florida. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!!

2500 and 3500 models are priced within 200.00 of each other. The dually option is 1200.00. No where near your exadurated 30k claim.

We have a Silverback with several of the optional items like a 20cu residential fridg. As for the cathedral slides we love them it gives the living area much more headroom.

I didn't know what that info was worth. It was what my salesmen sent me when I had the same question 18 months ago. I'm sure it changes...He was good, and not a pushy guy, very knowledgeable in general.

As I said above, it wouldn't matter about the axles..........the first thing I'd do for any new trailer, either model, is take it to MorRyde and have I.S. at the size they recommend plus disc brakes put on. That'd solve that difference.

I will say this, and again it is strictly FWIW! We started looking at SB 33IK and almost bought. But when we found our wholesale-type-pricing dealer, it allowed us to move 'up' to the Hathaway 36CKTS for less than our local dealer wanted for the SB. We are at the absolute TOP of what we could afford, so we figured we'd get the biggest/baddest/bestest we possibly could.........but the real factor was that after looking at every model available for over 8 solid months, DW fell in love with this 36CKTS above the floorplan of the SB's. SO.......when we found it cheaper than a SB, we just bought it. If I was buying tomorrow I'd buy either one.........but I'd 'fix it up' as I said above.

We love our cathedral slides and anyone who has ever been in our rig notices them right away. Gives you more head room especially if you are tall like me and makes the living area look larger. Also since I got it I have not banged my head getting into bed....lol lol....ours has the central vac and independent suspension. The only thing I forgot to check for was a ceiling fan which we miss sorely....

We have a 2018 CC34RE Hathaway with regular double door rv frig. Did not want the residential frig as they have been known to break loose from the floor. They also have an ice maker & that is a pain to winterize. If you want more info from me just ask. We have taken it on 2 trips, about 900 so far miles & love the 34RE.

I won't own another 5ER without a residential fridge. This is our third 5ER and the other two had the RV fridges and had issue with both of them. After the first year of ownership. One was a Dometic model and the control panel on the front was failing, would not switch between electric and propane! The other was a Norcor and this would not keep anything cold regardless of were the control switch was moved in the fridge. Another point the cheap plastic drip hose would deteriorate and break off allowing water to drip in side the trailer. All so a very good point for rodents and insects to enter the trailer from the cooling panels. And you have to watch the roof access point to ensure that the seals are maintained so water will not enter.

As far as winterizing the ice maker not a big issue with me. Since I never use the ice maker and the water valve to the ice maker water line is closed. There is a low point drain connection to drain the water from feedline to the water valve, for easy winterizing.

Another point when I purchased my CC34RL in 2016 the RV fridge was a $2300+ option over the residential model.

Not sure if this has been addressed already but if you are seasonal or long term in one place, the residential fridge is waaaayy cheaper to run than a single or double RV fridge...

One neighbor has double RV fridge and other side has residential in similar 5ers....our single RV fridge elec is $50 a month, double RV fridge pays $60 a month and guess what residential fridge pays ...?? A whopping $20 a month

They have had residential in past unit as well and their elec was siginificantly lower then as well

Something to consider as well

Our next unit will be a residential fridge for sure !
