Heat isn't working.

Ok, I have a 2011 29rl. The heat has never worked correctly. This past weekend got quite cold at night and I turned the heat on. It works for a few seconds if you turn the thermostat high, but doesn't work after that. I have plenty of propane, so I think the thermostat is bad. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement thermostat? I'm going to look online but I'm not sure I know what to look for.

It may not be the thermostat .if you feel comfortable take the thermostat of and jump what should be the red and white wire . If the heater still does not stay on it may be the thermocouple which you can also get at the dealer. Or any camping supply store . Good luck .

A standard Ole Household thermostat may work. I just replaced mine, 2 wires only, no blower control and no A/C control, just furnace.

My thermostat controls the air conditioner too. Does anyone know if it takes batteries? I can turn it on and the digitals work, but it isn't reading the correct temperature, might be why it won't work? I'll show my husband all your replies. It won't get fixed anytime soon since he hurt his back and can't go anywhere..

Some of the thermostat features may be battery operated, depending on your unit...but the "battery"will be that big 'ol 12 volt one in the front basement

How far off is it from "reading the correct temperature?"

Are your lights working (when the unit is not plugged in to shore power?)

It will only read the temp you set it at and yes the lights work when I unplug the unit. I called a CC dealer and was going to buy the thermostat but he said something about it being a control box. I'm not sure what he meant, so I told him my husband will be calling him back. This is very frustrating, but at least he didn't sell me the thermostat I didn't need.
