Back last year on the Forest River forum was a Dometic rep., Angie Manes, screen name AJMDOM. She has since changed jobs within Dometic and suggested to call 1-888-447-0003 for help.

In the Nashville area, the mobile repair that Dometic had replace mine, was Brian Elzy, (615) 406-3598 with Elzy's RV Service North of Nashville in Gallatin, TN Nashville and Middle RV Service - We Come To You!
He did a great job, took about 30 minutes. Dometic sent him the new motor and he called me when he got it and we arranged a time for him to install.

John. I'd be glad to drive down and check it for binding and make sure it has voltage. Don't know much more to do but let me know.

With my last trailer Forest River Wildcat, I had problems with getting the slide out and awning in while on vacation. Display showed battery was good. Doing some research, found out the battery should be the cause. I checked the battery voltage. It was bad (10.41v). Even know the convertor was working, I still couldn't get either to move. Jumped battery with my truck and both worked fine.

How about a big round of applause to David for making a 3+ hr round trip to help a frf member?

Thank you Dave!

To put closure to this thread, the awning is fixed. dcheatwood came over to our place this morning, trouble shooted and fixed the awning. According to my wife all is working well. I don't know exactly what all was done, but I know a fuse was changed. Maybe David can share what he found.

This issue may have sounded very minor to most, and it is in fact minor. But, like I had mentioned earlier in the thread, we have a long trip planned for right when I get home, and it's getting hot fast. I wouldn't have had time to fix it prior to leaving. We could have done it without an awning, but that sure does take the fun out of sitting in front of your camper in the middle of the day. It was important enough to me, to reach out for help, knowing my wife and kids would appreciate the shade on our trip.

A personal huge thank you to dcheatwood for helping us out. It's people like this that make the world a better place. I have helped several people out in the past with problems, now I have been blessed with the same help in return. If I am ever close to anybody, no doubt I will drop what I'm doing to help. There were other's who sent me messages that wanted to help that were very far away (OC, Weezer). Just the fact that they had the want to, means the world to me, and was greatly appreciated. We have some great people on here. I hope everybody will always make the effort to help others in need.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.
