Hydraulic Slide Rod Question

Was wondering if this rod should have the nut flush to the backing. I have two slides which have the nut tighten to the frame and 2 slides that have the nut about 1/2 inch away from the slide frame. No issues but just noticed it. All nuts have the locking type nut so I know it has not moved just thinking this might be so the the piston moves then pulls slide in after 1/2 inch. Anyone have this setup?Click image for larger version

Depending on where the rear bracket for the cylinder was mounted, some cylinders have more stroke than the slide has physical distance to move ... thus the space between nut and bracket. I've seen this more on Keystone products. Do not cinch up the nuts tight to your bracket ... you'll either bust off the interior fascia or the exterior aluminum trim extrusion. Hydraulics are way more powerful than what holds either on the slide itself. Look this over ... http://www.lci1.com/images/support/lipsheet/0131.pdf

Thanks Dieselguy that is what I figured. Was thinking if I tighten to the frame it would pull too far in.
