Angry Inverter And Awning For 38rd

Picked up my new 38RD last week, found the usual stuff that had to be fixed. One thing that was a concern, inverter was working off and on. From what I know it only runs the resadenual refrigator when the power is off. The dealer said the thing is new to CC, and they have no idea what to do about it other then call FR. When it was working it kept saying, low battery. All new battery's as far as I know. The thing didn't run the whole trip back to the house. 300 miles. Then started to work again. Anybody having this kind of trouble?

One other thing, the awning worked very well the first few days, then the left arm started to stick when turning on the switch. Have to pull on it a bit then itll work fine. The awning starts to pull out of the metal cover if I don't stop it.
Anybody have any ideas?

On the awning it sounds like the fabric has slide on the tube which can make it bind up when retracted or trying to extend it. Have to slide it back to the right place and make sure of no binding and pop rivet it from sliding.

I don't know anything to help you with the frig.

Have the same thing happening on my awning for my 38rd. After using it about four or five times it is no longer hanging up. As for the inverter it states low battery when disconnected from shore power and battery on for travel but they have a full charge. Have not had any problems shutting down and starting back up. Have only traveled about 150 miles from our base but have not had any issues with the refrigerator.

See earlier posts about inverters from around April 11th - your batteries are probably wired incorrectly - seems to be a pretty common occurance from what I have read.

New battery does mean they are fully charged. 4 - 6v batteries take a long time to charge. Your little trip most likely charged them off the TV while you were driving. You can double check the battery voltage on your levelup screen. If both are in agreement then you need to charge the batteries until you get about 13.5 volts reading. If after a day on charge you still have low voltage you might have a bad converter. At this point you might try an external battery charger made for deep cycle batteries. Be sure to check the water level during this process. Charging causes evaporation.

Also- x2 on what justbob wrote

I triple checked mine with diagram and it was correct. Dealer changed it out during prep. Going to put the meter on it next.

Hi roncross having the same problem with my 21' dometic awning. The arms move open about 1-2" and stop the motor for the awning still keeps unrolling the fabric which just drapes down under the metal awning rap. I have to reach up and give the awning a push it then opens up the rest of the way and closes with no problem. I have brought the tt back to the dealer to have this fixed.

Hope this helps Tim
