We have on order a 34RL and we just received the Vin # so I will be able to check this out soon to see if my idea will work? I also had the dealer install a MORryde TV mounting bracket (TV1-006) for the TV; so we can swivel the TV for better viewing from the theater seating.

No mine doesn't have an Optical digital output, But I have my beltone link 2 hooked to my audio out and my suround sound hooked there too, with a spliter. Works great! Don't forget Jensen Tech support will help also. Good Luck

Here is the solution from Jensen tech:

Thank you for contacting ASA Electronics. Try choosing the AUX mode. Typically the OEM will connect and use the AUX inputs on the radio to play the Audio through the stereo system. If it is not activating, check your TV Menu, under Audio, turn your TV speakers OFF and try again.

We had the same problem in our 2011 29rl. Dish came out yesterday to adjust our satellite and we asked the technician about the lack of sound. He ended up selling us a great sound bar. I'm very hard of hearing and now I can follow a movie without too much thought. Hope you get it resolved!

My issue is resolved. I solved the problem by following the instructions from ASA Electronics using the AUX mode on the stereo. Works great!
