You have a misunderstanding of the nature of HDMI v. Component. BOTH are perfectly capable (or not) of providing full resolution HD from source to display. This article should clarify the differences if you're interested.

In my view, the only discernible difference over short distances is the convenience of a single connection.

With the one HDMI input now taken up on the back of the television, how do I get a cable television connection? I guess I could use the component RCA cables (red, green, blue, yellow) to connect the DISH box to the television but that seems like a huge hassle.

If the television had two or more HDMI inputs, there would be no connection issues.

Anyhoo...we're enjoying our Cedar Creek so far!
Im just curious, if you have a Dish connected and programming, why do you also want to hook up cable TV? It seems to me one duplicates the other.

That being said, have you tried using a splitter where the cable and/or dish connects to the outside of the camper. You could then hook up both input cables to there. You can't watch both but by turning on only one receiver at a time, you would have both options

Hi, I have a 2016 34RL with Jenson tv, I hooked up a Blu-ray player and a DirecTv receiver (used HDMI splitter) in the cabinet left of the fireplace. Used the HDMI port in the cabinet and power in the rear of the cabinet. There are 2 HDMI ports on the TV, already hooked up with the Jensen multi entertainment center in HDMI1 and the Cabinet port as HDMI 2. I had to add a coax cable to run from the satellite outlet behind the Jensen TV to the DirecTv box in the cabinet. Just drilled a small hole into the fireplace cavity.
HDMI 1 port is on the back and HDMI 2 is on the left side
