I have the part # in post 12. after building the regulator I used a battery to hook up to the input and connected my volt meter to the output and adjusted the potentiometer (pot) to the voltage desired. I'm running 10.5 others might do something different just as long it's under 12 vdc. The light over the bed I have adjusted to 5 vdc it's still bright just not bright as a welding arc.

It is a problem with the design of the LED lights used in the 36CKTS. I have a 2016 and I am having problems with my ceiling lights. Two have heated up so much that they went from lighting 3 of the 6 diodes. The third one got so hot that the circuit board broke loose from the plastic mounting ring and drop down making contact with the plastic cover and burning it. This designed light does not have the ability to properly dissipate the heat that the LED circuit board generates resulting in the problems I am having as well as what the other people are having. It is especially a problem if you leave the lights on for a long period of time like a couple of hours. I am concerned that this problem is a fire hazard and is going to result in an RV fire. Other LED flush mounted ceiling light designs use an aluminum mounting plate that the LED circuit board is mounting to. This design has the ability to properly dissipate the heat.
Leds are designed to work on 12vdc or below. The over voltage to the diodes causes heat build up inside the light assembly. I converted my incandescent to leds then installed a voltage regulator to keep then from getting hot. Post 12 is my mod . Hope it helps.

I have a 38fb2 Ceder Creek 2016 and have had to replace all of my LED lights 24 is the count Tested voltage at the light and it was 12.6 some were badly burnt and one was so hot it burned my finger I am concerned that they could start a fire I will say that forest river did send me all the replacements This all started when we took del. there were a few burned out and the dealer replaced them then we hauled the trailer aprox 100 miles to the resort where we are spending the winter after we got settled one after another started burning out
Dunk with 2016 Cedar Creek 38FB2, after you replaced all of your factory installed LED ceiling lights, did the replacements start to burn out. Post #12 stated that we need to do a better job of controlling the voltage to the lights and make sure that the voltage does not go above 12 volts. If that is so, why is Forest River not putting in a voltage converter that controls the voltage to 12 volts max.
We are able to leave our lights on for a couple of day. Don't ask how I know... I went inside and before I turned the lights off I felt the cover with the back of my hand. They were only cool to tough. When we close up the camper I'll make sure all the lights are turned off.

You guys are scaring me with all the posts about overheating lights. I just ordered a 36ckts and this problem really concerns me. Anyone know for sure if CC is still installing these fire hazard lights, or have they switched to a better brand?
Keth52 I really dont no if they have changed I have a 38fb2 2016 my lights were all faulity But as forest river is concerned they are a great company to deal with Iwould talk with the service Rep for an ans to that quest
