Level up as Jack to change tire?
As I have been learning the level up system, I noticed something on one of Lipperts brochures about being able to use the level up hydraulics in manual mode to lift a tire off the ground. I seem to recall reading that this was a no no.
Has anyone tried this? I can see where this would work okay in manual mode. In the right circumstances I might even use it. The first concern that comes to mind would be the possibility of bending a cylinder rod.
Thoughts?

Sometimes when I use the level-up it takes the wheels off the ground and they stay off for the week I camp out. If I have a flat then I'm going to call someone and let them change it but I see no reason you can't use the level-up to lift the camper tires off the ground to change a flat

Spock, I've noticed that my level up also will sometimes lift a wheel off the ground,...which also got me thinking.

lippert says its a safety concern, i have used it for brake maintence and greaseing schackle links, it may go out of level and have to be recalabrated, not a problem if you follow the owners manual

Factually Bill, they can and do. One of the pages of literature that came with my trailer lists "changing tires" as one of the benefits of the level up system. I was a little surprised to read that.

My dealer did each side to adjust the brakes. I asked about using it to change tires the mechanic said yes, but may need to put a 4x6 down for extra height.

I don't like to have the wheels off the ground so I trick the level-up and now all the wheels stay on the ground

lippert now says not to use the level up to change tires, it may go to excessive angle and have to be reset. the literature also says comes back to unhook height ,but doesnt, it only raises to unhook height, the literature doesnt tell that

it came in handy when we had a blow out on a major HWY.. no tow company would come to assist so I used the lippert system to bring one side up so I could change my blow out. I try to keep my wheels off the ground when I am home and not going out for a few weeks.

With the front two jacks. I just use the two jacks to get it off the truck and leave the other four up. If you don't have the level-up you will still have the front jacks. Once I get the truck away I turn the level-up off
