Glad I could help But I can't really take credit for it. I was standing on the very last usable step of a ladder to reach the top with a buffer. It made my wife nervous so she suggested I lower the front of the trailer. DUH!

Just for anyone that followed this post, I used my pin stabilizer (instead of my truck) to retract my jacks, then raised the front jacks to remove the stabilizer, then lowered the jacks so I could auto level the RV at a lower level with all the tires on the ground. The point being that the pin stabilizer will more than support the weight of the pin.

On level ground, I've run the LCI reset procedure many times while completely unhooked. You use manual mode to get each jack extended 6" to 8" (no more, no less). Then press and hold the retract button to have all Jack's start to retract. Once they start, let go of the retract button and they should all complete their up and this process clears any errors. The 5er will not fall and you can then drop front Jack's and level as usual.

Not sure I understand? If you are unhooked and retract all jacks, what holds the pin up? Are you using a stabilizer?

You would have to be on a serious incline for the pin to hit the ground. It's not going to tip over forward, the majority of the weight is still on the wheels. The front jacks will just be fully retracted lowering the nose. It's also going to happen slowly, the front jacks are not just going to drop suddenly.

Exactly. I agree.

As mentioned previously, I've lowered my front jacks all the way so I can easily reach the top of the fiver while on a ladder to wax with a buffer. Of course the rear jacks were raised. Bottom front of the trailer (where the landing gear is) is probably 4"-5" off the ground and the king pin is several feet (3'?) off the ground. You would have to have a very strangely built fiver for the kingpin to have a possibility of hitting the ground.

Several posts have tried to explain this, and also given several safer options for re-leveling. Apparently all unsuccessful .
