Lippert Leveling Jacks make popping noice

We have a 2014 CKTS and have been living in it for three years. Lately we hear lots of popping noice coming from the jacks. Anyone else have this problem?

Not enough info.

When does it occur, how long does it last, have you checked the fluid level recently, look at the pads and legs, so they have fluid on them?

No leaks, and had enough fluid! I hear it everyday with today being the most noice. Never had this issue before.

Does it do it on the up, down or level out?

Popping noise generally indicates a loose connection/fitting, screw loose or missing allowing movement. I have heard that sound from Corvettes to John Deere's, Harley's to bicycles.

Very common issue with the Lippert leveling jacks. Mine have done it for the past 2 seasons. I added the anti-stiction fluid this year as recommended by lippert and I haven't heard a single noise from them since. I recommend going with the CAT 1U-9891 fluid, a buddy of mine used the other stuff listed on the service advisory and it didn't work. See link below:

The jacks on my Trilogy do the same thing. Added the anti-stiction fluid, really no help. We have learned to live with it. Been three years...

John, did you use the CAT fluid of one of the other 2 on the list?

I had this, also. I applied silicone with teflon liquid all the way from the top of the legs and let it run down the legs. Since I did that, the popping has become a whole lot less. There is still some ratcheting noise coming from the axles, while the trailer is going up and down. However, the "popping" noise from the leveling system is a lot less.

The 2 fork fluids that they have listed do not work to solve the popping noise. The CAT hydraulic additive does work, it's a little bit more expensive and can only be found at a CAT dealer.

Use the Cat stuff. It works! $35+ per quart but you only need one.

I'll have to disagree with you CAT enthusiast about it being the ONLY oil to go with ... I used the Torco RFF 15W with success. Don't just remove fluid and dump the new in ... follow Lippert instructions.

And if you still have noise after the fluid "treatment", get rubber jack pads, that is what finally got us a quiet night's sleep, after two fluid replacements. In deference to a previous poster, I don't think we used Cat, however.

I saved the instructions, thanks. I did realize that one side of the rig was actually off the ground only being held by jacks. Since then it's been a lot better.
