Ain't even Tundra compared to Dumas, Dalhart, etc., which is in the shadow of Alaska!

The state really does have widely varying weather and other features. One guy wrote that he didn't need slide out toppers in Texas because there are NO TREES! Some places don't have any. The Big Thicket and other places do.

Edit: I've seen ice and snow between Houston and Galveston... and I've also lived in Copperas Cove. I've about frozen to death on guard duty at Ft. Hood!

Steelpony5555, be sure you turn the water heater power switch off before you drain it. If left on, you could burn the element out when the unit is plugged into power before the water heater is refilled. Ours has a clip to ensure it does not get accidentally turned on while the water heater is empty.

I have lived from Amarillo to Victoria and places in between and have seen freezing temps in all those areas. I'm now 60 miles SW of Dallas, remember superbowl 2011, we had ice almost a foot thick that year. Drain wtr htr & pump 2 gallons of the pink stuff, takes about 10 minutes and fills the "P" traps at the same time. Well worth the $5.00 & change not to worry about it and faster than blowing out the lines.

I guess 30+ years with AT&T outside qualifies me as a phone dude, that's what all my non phone "friends" use to call me.
