I was listening to the trucker channel today and a propane hauler called in. He said they are not running logs and loading the tankers to the max. Which means they are overloaded. 80K +.

Yes sir, that's the American way. Minimize the risk , use your head , drive accordingly and git r done.
Back in my big truck driving days I hauled coal to a power plant. Paid by the ton. I was overloaded every trip. Only had one scale to dodge , took good care of my equipment and drove accordingly.

If you read my previous post it explains why no logs.

Here in OK, most of the trucks that haul propane have 90k gvw. Thats the state max you can register at for commercial tags, anything over is permit required.

Of course farm tag trucks dont have to register a weight.

oops. forgot to check mark that stupid box again!

Illinois has waived the hos rules as well for propane haulers. I'mo pretty sure missouri has as well.

Called for a refill on Saturday of my 500 gallon tank. They delivered Monday at $1.89 gal but only gave me 150 gallons. As long as I don’t run out I’m okay with that.

Yes sir, I read it. In my short 9 years of being a professional steering wheel holder though I never logged my waiting time "on duty not driving". It was always logged "off duty not driving" or "sleeper birth" so I could truck it up when loaded. I guess I was an outlaw..lol
Those were good days when you could make a buck or two. I got out in 97 and sold my 2 trucks in 99.

Yes. Now you have 14 hours "on" time with only 11 being for driving. Before you have to grab your 8.
And most are electronic now. Logs that is

My regular place charges flat rate for filling my 7 gal tanks. $24 2 months ago and still $24 2 days ago. However, Tractor Supply went up in the same time frame from $2.69/gal to $2.99/gal. But every time I've ever gone there for lp, they've been out of it.

Hope you guys stay warm, it's only going to be down to the mid thirties here on the border tonight.

MillerTime
My guys here in Texas run under the Texas Intrastate and Oil Field exception laws . 15 hr day and 24hrs resets the 72 hour clock. Like the old days. They can keep all the electronic logs...at least for now.
Happy Trails
