Mattress topper??

We're taking our new 33ik out tomorrow for our first trip..will be gone for about 3 weeks. We decided to sleep in it last night for a test run...and the (king)mattress is sooo hard! I could hardly get any rest at all. What kind of a topper would you suggest? Our previous 5er had a queen bed and we got a 4 inch memory foam for it that seemed to work well but it was hot to sleep on. Anyone have any suggestions or places to get one? I think we got the other one at Overstock.
Thanks! Happy Easter!

Put a Latex topper on it. You'll probably need at least 4 inches.

Bought and love Serta Memory Foam toppers from Sam's Club. Had them in the old TT, Have them in the new TH. Even bought one for the stick and brick bed.

I brought a topper from Walmart a few years ago, it was some kind of memory foam. We gave the topper away when we got the Trump King mattress

Mattress topper??

I got one at Costco, and it’s supposed to help regulate temperature. I still find it a little warm but not as bad as I expected. I see they have another one of the same brand (novaform) that you flip for cooling in the summer and warming in the winter.

Thanks for the ideas! We don't have a Costco nearby but I'll check out some of the others.

We have a 3" Lucid brand 'cool gel' memory foam topper on the king bed in our 34IK. We have a fiber type mattress cover on top of it, then the fitted sheet. We had the same set up in our old truck camper and loved it.

Got both the topper and mattress cover at Overstock.com. Had an 18% off coupon so brought the price down. If you order from Overstock, be sure to look at the box when it arrives. The first one we received was for a full sized bed. The king size fits the bed perfectly and is very comfortable.

Did you get the standard King Bed in your 34IK or the upgraded one?

Mattress topper

Bbfish
Definitely a big proponent of Latex foam toppers and mattresses. Mattresses are too heavy for an RV but the Talalay latex toppers are 3" or more thick and are fabulous. Not cheap but very comfortable.
Talalay latex is the best and most durable.
Buy online or a mattress store.

We had the same problem with our TT mattress. We didn't like the memory foam that we had in our MH so we got a 3" foam (not memory foam) mattress at WalMart. So far, we like like it.

We bought a 4 inch memory foam topper from Sam’s also. Be certain to give it a few days to expand.

We tried a mattress topper on our 36ckts.It helped some but it wasn't the answer. Save the money and just buy a new mattress. We got a Zinus 12" foam online for about $300.00. Well worth the money. if I did it again I would get the 10' a little more firm and less expensive.

Daycruiser: "Did you get the standard King Bed in your 34IK or the upgraded one?"

We got the standard king in the 34IK. Can buy nice memory foam "mattress in a box" MUCH cheaper down the road than the $700 +/- our dealer wanted for the 'upgraded' king.

We had a standard innerspring in our (now sold) Eagle Cap truck camper and put the Lucid brand topper on it. It was very comfy! I'm sure it'll be even more so in the 34IK because this 'standard' mattress is a very nice 'upgrade' to the innerspring we had in the TC.

Hope this helps! BTW, the standard king IS a standard king. Sheets fit great!

Perfect, thanks for the intel, we also passed on the upgraded King from FR. we've been debating on topper or rip and replace. Our 34IK came in a couple of days ago, now just waiting for my inspector to go to Couch RV and inspect it for me. Thanks

You're most welcome! I think you might be surprised with the mattress you get 'standard'.

Enjoy your new 34IK! We LOVE ours!

Glad you like yours, ours went into a dumpster after our first season. First you pay for the mattress included in the price of the trailer, then you pay to dispose of it. Then you pay for a replacement. Better if you didn't get one at all.

One of the best things we did to our 5er bed was this: I took the thin plywood platform off the bed and outside where I could work on it. I cut five lengths of 2x4 that were just long enough to fit inside the width of the bed platform. Then I placed them across the underside of the plywood with the 2x4's on edge. Then I used 2" long wood screws, spaced about every 8 inches, and screwed the plywood from the top and down into the 2x4's. That stopped the bed support from sagging in the middle so we wouldn't both be rolling toward the middle all night. Later we added a good 2" thick memory foam topper to the already great mattress we had. Sleeps as good as our $2500 mattress at home.

We paid for the Serta downgrade...I mean upgrade and ended up with a 3 inch topper as well. That made it tolerable. I admit I like a plush bed. The soft the better I think.
