Microwave vent
Does anyone know if the microwave that came in the Cedar Creek can be vented outside. It vents inside now but it be nice if it could be vented outside, that way when we cook inside all the smells would go outside

Yes it can. Somewhere in this forum I saw a mod being conducted venting the microwave to the outside.

might be possible that Cedar creek didnt change the plate on the back of the microwave before installing it. may have to drop the microwave and check. look at the manual for the microwave on how to have it duct outside vs inside

Mine does not have an outside vent for the microwave I would have to cut one into the wall. Do CC already have one usually?

I am not sure that the Silverbacks and the Cedar Creek units are the same in this area.
My Cedar Creek has a exhaust vent for the microwave exhaust fan; but there is no-way that the vent can be opened from the ground. I am 6' and I would need a 4' to 5' step ladder to reach this vent to open it every time we where to use it camping. I checked out the vent at home and the top of the flap opens to allow exhausted air to escape. The vent opening was similar in opening area as my older camper exhaust vent was.
On my unit it is brown in color and about 10' to 11' off of the ground on the street side of the unit. If you have a propane/electric refrigerator this would be next to the heating exhaust opening for the refrigerator but up higher.

My 32RL came from the factory with the vent in and it's a far ways from the ground. The trouble is that the microwave is not vented to the outside and I have to take the microwave down, I have looked and that part does not look hard to do, just getting the microwave down. I plan to leave mine open all the time. Has anyone taken the microwave down, it looks like it has two bolts that hold the microwave in place, in the cabinet right above the microwave. Is this the only ones?

Oh by the way I guess to save money but Whirlpool did not put a manual in the microwave, you have to go online and download a copy

Agree sounds like the top plate may not have been switched on the microwave. Have installed many units above stoves it is usually the two bolts down thru the cabinet above, then the unit tilts down, sits in the channel on the wall mount bracket. Have a second person not real heavy just bulky, the extra person makes it much easier and safer.

Thanks, I'll try that. On the manual I looked at online it said take the fan, the motor and fan to gather and turn them 180 degrees. But thanks again about how to take unit out

Mine has the outside vent so I assume there is a hole in the wall. I'll find out when I take the microwave down
