Mosquito and fly time

What do you use to keep Mosquitos and biting flies from ruining your camping trip?

Smile Biting pests...

Sitting in camp we use the Therma-Cell system. When out and about, we rely on a spray containing a significant percentage of DEET.

Therma-Cell and the spray stuff. I would say fan, or bug blowers as they're called offshore. We do have one, a quite large one. But, Louisiana mosquitos are unique in their super powers. They can fly upwind to a 42 inch fan, bite through a pair of carhartt jeans, and can resemble birds in some areas. I'm curious on the absorbine stuff. I've used it for it's intended purpose, but not for bugs. Might try it.

Those things are fun if nothing else. I had an invasion of dirt dobbers last year. Couldn't seem to swat enough of them with my hat, so off to the store I went to find the baddest electric bug swatter thing I could. If nothing else, it's fun, and kind of like a game. My kids enjoyed watching me kill anything within swatting range, and they did recon for more bugs to swat at.
