New 34IK...It's here and it's beautiful.
At least that is what the salesman told us when he call to tell us our new 34IK had arrived. Unfortunately, he call the afternoon before we were leaving for 2 weeks to attend back to back FROG Rallies in Ohio & Ontario. We didn't even think about starting the PDI then but did take the 30 min ride over to International RV World in Mt Pleasant MI. to take a quick look. It was a bit grimy from the 200 mile haul from Topeka, but, we, at least, confirmed all of our options were installed.
2 weeks later we returned with clipboard in hand and did a proper PDI. They did tell us that they spent quite a bit of time checking everything out and I guess they did because after all of that prep we did to prepare the PDI, we only found a few "self-closing" drawers that didn't. So far we are very pleased with the Cedar Creek and with International RV. They installed a FlexAir Pinbox and a Dometic 320 residential toilet for us since those options weren't available through Cedar Creek.
They even installed 4 SS clevis pins in the MoRyde Step Above to make it easy to remove in needed for clearance after I told them I was worried about that possibility. Turns out the RV Gods were looking after us, because, the side garage entry aligns perfectly with the steps. Makes it easier for loading too. (See Pics Below)
The new Ram 3500 felt real good towing it for the first time, at least for the 30 miles or so from the dealer. I did figure out the connecting/disconnecting process works better if I disable the air suspension on the Ram. Otherwise, it keeps auto leveling and I can't tell when the load changes.
We're pretty much loaded and plan to take it out for a shank down cruise next Monday for a few nights...just 40 miles to Frankenmuth, MI. Hopefully everything will stay together and continue to work well.
Thanks to all on the forum who answered my many questions during the shopping and ordering phase of this upgrade project.

Congrats and enjoy the new rig. I know you put a lot of research into getting exactly what you wanted.
Happy camping!

We have those steps as well.
Need a picture of the pins to remove them!
Our storage lot spot is too narrow to open our steps. We have to hook up and move our fiver to enter. A pain. But, love the steps!
Plan ahead. Warantee service is a pain. Generally takes months. My dealer demands appointments to look at the issues. Scheduling normally full for 2 months. So plan ahead! Then a second visit months later. Generally BS.
We are DIY folks so it did not matter.

Had to drill out 8 rivets and replaced with 4 1/4" x 2 3/8" ss clevis pins secured w/ hitch pin clips for easy removal.

We're just a couple of years a head of you on the new grand baby thing. No doubt in my mind how you got drafted. btw We've stayed at Lake View RV Resort in SE Houston just south of the loop a couple of times and it was very nice for a city RV park.

Congrats! Like your modification to the steps.
Did you get the optional bike hitch on your 34ik? We picked up our 34ik in May with the bike hitch and the added framing for the hitch causes a dragging risk in the rear. We discovered this when we backed it up our driveway and had to use boards under the tires to provide clearance. Didn't have this issue with our last 5er. Neither the king pin or my Pullrite hitch can be adjusted to compensate so it is what it is. I will have to be careful pulling into service stations/restaurants as have found in the past that their entry ways sometimes have dips.
Pulling to Upper Peninsula of Michigan next Wednesday to Tahquamenon Falls SP next Wednesday and Fort Wilkins SP the following week. I'll honk when I pass Midland!
We love our unit!

Congrats! We like ours very much. You'll enjoy yours as well.
Have fun getting it converted into "your place on the road".

Did not get the bike rack option. We have folding bikes that fit nicely in the front storage compartment.

Congratulations on that new 34IK. It is very similar to our signature trailer.
Sandbagger - we will also be in the UP in a few weeks....heading across to Duluth.

SimbraSabre - we only had the receiver put on in anticipation of a potential need. We already had a ladder rack for bikes and thought the 34ik ladder might be too close to side to hang the bikes. As it is the ladder rack works well on the 34ik only extending about 6” past the 5er side.. With that said i wish I didn’t have the bike receiver option so I’d have more underneath clearance.

Beautiful rig guys. It’s stunning.
Kinda glad you didn’t have it parked beside us at Petrolia....you would’ve shamed us even more.
BTW.....I thought we had the perfect setup to load/unload at our house.....1.5 steps between the house and the motorhome, but you guys have us beat there too. We too can extend the awning overtop of the house if it’s raining, but if you were any closer you’d have the steps INSIDE the house.
