New 5th Wheel

Just picked this up today. 2018 Cedar Creek 36CK2. This is our 1st 5'er. We just moved up from a 30ft bumper pull. This thing sure is big, but boy is it nice inside. I need to get it on a scale but empty weight is around 13,000lbs. Our F350 pulled this thing very well. Trailer caused about 1inch of squat, thats it.

F350 will haul that day and night. If you had SOB of truck airbags and other things would be required.

George & Nancy,

We have about the same setup. Pulled it over 10,000 miles last year with no problems. It is our first 5th wheel as well. Enjoy it!

That is good looking combination. What hitch are you using?

We picked ours up last Saturday, pulled it 300 miles home with 2003 Dodge 3500with no problem. About the same amount of squat but looking at adding Airlift5000 airbags to smooth out the bumps mainly. See you at a camp ground hopefully.

AirLift 5000 is terrific and does a fantastic job levelling your ride. Congrats on the new rig. We live our 5th wheel.

I'm using a Pullrite 18k Superglide on their superglide rails. The hitch worked great. Only issue is it sits too tall in the truck bed and I can't close my Bakflip hard tonneau cover. Looking at options to fix it - shorter legs on the hitch - already have them, 24K hitch - sits 15.5inches instead of 18.5inches, new tonneau cover that sits above the rails instead of below the rails.

Nice rig! Looks like the new version of ours.

I had a Bak Flip, and got rid of it in favor of a ReTrax, for that reason. Works great.

Nice looking set up. I have an 17 38EL at about 16000 lbs loaded, I am about 15500. I have an 08 F350 srw and added the lift air 5000. Helped level it out and a smoother ride. Run it with about 75 psi.
Congratulations on new rig. Be safe brother FF.

Any advice on a 2018 Hathaway vs Champagne? We are just starting to look at fifth wheels and really liked the Keystone Montana until we saw the Cesar Creeks. We are planning on living full-time. Thanks for any advice.

The Cedar Creek 36CK2 Hawthaway Edition is new to us. We just picked it up a couple weeks ago and won't be taking it out till first weekend in March. What we really liked about it is the living room layout with the big pantry separating the entertainment area from the cooking surfaces (some of the smaller models had the stove right next to the edge of the entertainment center). Like the larger size bathroom with the double vanities. The Champagne editions have lots of the same features but look to have an upgraded convection top stove, dishwasher and a wine fridge. Bathroom layout is the same. Bedroom has a little more builtin cabinets. Both look to be great models. Not sure you would go wrong with either version.
Good luck choosing - that was the hardest part of buying one..
