I got my front cap replaced last Friday, it was the 14. I was told by someone that the rear cap should have been replaced at the same time. Anyway maybe another trip. Denise fixed a couple of things for DW and that was great, Denise is great to work with, Denise is awesome!!!! Now camper has to go back to shop, residential refrigerator fell out, I wish I had got the second year warranty. I bet my warranty from Camping World doesn't pay for it. Anyway another trip, Denise is great

Looks nice! Did the factory say the new caps were now painted and should last longer? Just wondering.

Our turn for cap replacement isn't 'til next June, also courtesy of Denise. What was the process once you got to Topeka? Where did you stay before and during? How long did it take? Any other lessons learned that you'd care to share?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Caps are no big deal in and out same day. NOW, if you have other issues being addressed, different story.
Call the people doing the replacements and ask them. You might be able to hit their yard in pm; stay over & vacate for a day around town; pick up at 4pm; stay on their lot or head out.

We got ours replaced after the rally. We paid 900 dollars to have the new ones painted. We also asked for our own decal design using newer model decals. Very happy.

I'm booked in for the front cap to be replaced on July 14th, 2017. They are also replacing the front J Panel and cargo door on the drivers side (my expense). I have asked they replace the kitchenette window too as this has all fogged up in one of the two opening sections. Hoping this will be done at their dime even though it is out of warranty as the fault started just a few months after the warranty expired.
Hopefully, this can all be done in the one day. Where would you recommend staying for a couple of nights before and again the night after I collect the rig?
Did you have to take it in the evening before so they had it ready for first thing in the morning or could you tow it to them early the same day?
This is part of our return road trip from Calgary to Toronto so I'm hoping it can all be cleared up very quickly.
Thanks

Hutch, a lot of people stay at Shipsweanna South when heading to Cedar Creek for work, we use the Flea Market campground just a little farther up the road. Good luck they do great repair work at the factory

Hutch, sorry about my first attempt on my post! Just wished to mention that I was able to get my front cap redone here in town and it was covered under warranty. Think a great job was done! If you wish more info give me a call...

Thanks for this. I'll take a look and see what I can book in to.
LJ.......The offer I got was either bring it to the factory or we'll pay you $750 (US). WE're heading east next summer anyway so thought I'd get it fixed while I'm there - along with the J panel I creased.

We stayed at both campgrounds, the Flea Market does not take reservations, just a campsite and nothing else. The other campground was nice just cost more

We had both caps replaced last week. We camped at Shipshewana south campground and got up Friday morning and took our Cedar Creek to the plant in Topeka (only about 15 minutes away). Dropped it off at 8:00 am and picked it up at 3:30 the same day. I had other work done while it was there so it took a little longer. A good place for Amish baked goods is Rise and Roll outside Shipshewana on Rt20 west. We ate supper at the 5and20 diner in Shipshewana and the food was awesome! There are several shops and things to see in Shipshewana. We also drove to Elkhart, Indiana to the RV museum. It's only about 1/2 hour away. It was awesome! A lot of old campers on display. Cost is $10.00 and $8.00 for seniors over 60. A must see if your into camping. Just a note , almost everything is closed on Sunday in Shipshewana (Amish owned businesses). We were treated like royalty at the Cedar Creek plant. They make you feel very welcomed there.

Very true but I like cheaper and if you go in the flea market campground on a day when the market is closed you have a better choice of sites. If South had a pool and cable I wouldn't mind the higher price. Rumor has it the flea market campground is adding more sites, a bath house and a pavilion area, they are also building a service repair building with a rain booth.

Thank you. Very much appreciated and especially knowing how long you were without the rig. If that is what I need to do, then we can make plans for things to do during the day and collect the trailer in the late afternoon. If everything goes according to plan, we'll be heading west on the Saturday morning, stopping off to see friends in the Quad Cities and then over to Mount Rushmore and the Blackhills.

We dropped our camper off at 8:00am and went to breakfast at Tiffanys, Denise told us where to go. We came back at 12:00 and Denise gave us a tour of the plant. They also fixed a few items for us and gave us some parts for other things. I saw a TrailAir pin box there and asked the price and they told me the rally price, I have a new pin box. Cedar Creek has always been nice to me

Thanks Spock. This is really helpful information and good to know that FR look after their customers in these circumstances.
