50 amp power cord weight

One of the biggest surprises for me was the weight of the 50 amp power cord vs. the 30 amp power cord that I had in my previous trailers. And along with the weight, in cold weather the stiff cord can be a bear to coil back up for storage. On the plus side, I get a good workout every time I hook up or disconnect.

Currently we have logged 5,377 miles with our 2013 29RL Silverback and lived in it for 64 days since we picked it up in March. This has been the best trailer we have ever owned.

The only issues this trailer had was a bent landing gear pin, discovered on our PDI. A circuit breaker/fuse access door that wouldn’t stay closed during travel and a retaining clip that was missing from an awning arm. Minor issues for sure. In June I broke one of the strings on the rear window shade and I also managed to break the quick connect on the outside shower. All issues were fixed by our dealer.

We’ve had so much fun with camping and travel this year that I don’t want November to come when we have to winterize the Silverback. We only have two more “planned” trips, one to Carlyle Lake for the Art and Wine Festival, and another to Rend Lake for their Art and Wine Festival.

BTW, I love the cathedral ceilings in the Silverback.
I bought a marine grade switch I plan to mount somewhere in the rear out of sight to solve that problem. I'll post some pics if I can get one of those round tuits.

Yes, please do post some pics when you add that switch.

No, not a true snowbird. We do plan to go south in mid-February and stay til the end of March or mid-April. It really depends on what RV parks would have space available for that time frame.

It looks interesting. I'll put that on my list of possible places to go to finish out the winter months.

It was the wrong wiring for the Converter and burned the power cord. Wiring was trimmed to fit the OE instead of installing the proper converter.
