outdoor light above the door

Hello, we have a 2014 36ckts. The lightbulb above the entry door burned out. The one with the oval yellow cover. What size bulb is it? I took the old bulb out but there were no numbers on it. Looks like an 1156. I put and 1156 in and it worked but the bulb gets too hot and started melting the yellow cover. Anyone know the correct bulb to use in the light? Thanks , Robert

Not sure of the bulb, but they make an 1156 in an LED version. LED's are bright, use 84% less power and DON'T get hot

Click for Amazon LED's

That bulb is a 1141. I replaced mine with a led that has a 1141 base.

Or you could replace the anemic porch light with the SL-1000 Starlight and not disturb your neighbors.

I don't like the light above the entry door since it attracts bugs. I did the following: I attached a "warm white" waterproof LED light strip underneath the entire length of the canopy metal strip where it is attached to the camper. The light strip length can be trimmed to fit. It is 12V or 120V (with a converter). I added an inline switch with remote control that lets me turn on/off and dim the lights among other functions. I absolutely love it!

Yellow exterior light

Wish FR would ship LED light in yellow versus white. White lights are a big draw for bugs. They could then eliminate the old fashion yellow 12v light. Their design team needs some new blood with new ideas.

Fonzie,
The 1141 has a longer and narrower glass.

Send a message via MSN to Tiggerdad
After you remove the lenses the information for the correct bulb will be stamped on the fixture.

Methinks their design team drives horse & buggy. But seriously, here is the big question: Do LED lights attract bugs like incandescent bulbs?

I think there is a wattage difference between the incandescent 1141 & the 1156.

Whole thing re lights is confusing. Have a FR/CC/SilverBack 29ft that I cant identify the OEM bulbs for the interior candelabra lights in the left slide out. I assume they are BA15D. Cant find any info. The lights keep blowing out and over heating so I am sure the ones I replaced are incorrect. Do you have to disconnect the battery before replacing the fuse ? I cant find an icon for new thread anywhere either. Would some one mind emailing me at olygolfer69@gmail.com...thank you

You are probably right about BA 15D. They make an LED equivalent which is what I use.
