Paint flaked off

Last night was cold and I have camper at home but I keep heat on in the camper all the time, we go somewhere every month. The Cedar Creek can get down to zero with no problems, well this morning when I checked on camper where the furnace is all the paint had about flacked off. I wonder how that happen

Did it flake off the furnace or from the side panels? I would not be too concerned about the furnace itself. I can see the heat causing some paint problems on the hot surfaces of the furnace.

From the furnace side, that can be painted with black paint and not be a problem but something like this has never happen with me before and I thought it was odd. I have always left the heat on in all the campers I have owned and this is a first. Do I need to make sure I have enough insurance?

Oh this was not on the furnace itself but the panel that you can see from outside

Mine discolored after 3 months. They make/sell heat resistant paint at most automotive stores. I will be re spraying mine come Spring.

I would check the furnace out your getting to hot from the burner if your outside door is flaking. Or could be just a cheap paint job from where ever FR bought it from. If it is really bad then I would leave that door open until you can get it checked out. You don't want the heat to transfer to your surrounding area on the trailer itself. Then you could have a real problem.

I've owned several fivers and have never had the paint blister from the cover. Is the cover actually aligned with the furnace exhaust port? (Wrong cover) Was there a strong wind against that side last night?
