Pickup and trailer bounce

I am at a loss to explain why I have ths loping effect when slowing and braking to stop. Like we are out of sync but visually I can't see any substantial movement. 2015 3500 Silverado hooked to 2016 Cedar Creek 36ckts. Curt hitch over goose ball uaing adapter. Hitch is around 5 inches in front of rear axle as recommended by Curt.

Sounds like your brakes may be set to sensitive. Does the back of your truck get pulled down? If yes, adjust your brake controller gain down

proportional brake controllers trigger the pressure of the trailer brakes at the same ratio as the tow vehicle. The main benefit to this control system is that it provides the least amount of wear and tear on both the towing vehicle's brakes and the trailer's brakes.

What is your pin box on the trailer is it a static one or a TrailAir pin box? I have found that a static box will excite the movement between the trailer and truck. While a Trailer Air pin Box will decouple this monition and allow for a smoother ride in all conditions. Just another item to consider.

It is a Trail Air but not the more expensive model that handles the back and forth like Moryde.

There is always some chucking on stops where the pavement is wavy. Be certain that you have the right air bag in your TrailAir. The wrong one (4 are available) will cause it to buck like crazy.

There is a data sheet that goes with the TrailAir. It shows the ranges of pin weights and which air bags are to be used. My experience is that the unit comes with the biggest and dealer's aren't very good about correcting it if necessary. If you don't have the data sheet, check on line.
