Picture Hanging

Wife wanted me to ask what you guys are using to hang a picture up with. We have used the smaller stick on holders, but they seem to not work very good. Thanks

We have used the "3M Commander" self-stick hooks (follow the directions and clean the wall well or they will not stick) We had 3 commander coat hooks in our 5er that would hold @ 8# each.

We have also used traditional picture hangers (the ones with a small nail and a 45º guide.

Pro tip on hanging pictures: get several small pieces of Museum Wax and place them strategically around the frame. Press frame to wall and the museum wax will hold them in place just as good as glue would. Advantage of Museum Wax is you can slide a putty knife under the frame and remove the museum wax without any residue.

If it is to be permanent (semi permanent), small pieces of 5M tape on the perimeter (4 sides) of the frame.

Should have said 3M automotive double sided tape not 5M tape. Have used the Commander hooks but all the pictures wound up on the floor while stored down in TX where the heat shows no mercy. Not so with the 3m tape. All my hangings are permanent though.

Some of the "wallpaper" doesn't tend to want to hold the Command Strips very well. We had one wall that wouldn't hold anything for very long, others that held for years. Not sure what the wife used in those cases.
