Pulled Great

I just wanted to say what a great pulling rig this Silverback I have is. Just got home from a 250 mile trip and this fifth wheel stuck behind me like glue. Pulling in the Texas heat upwards of triple digits with my Ram Truck was very pleasant. I have never had a fifth wheel before but can honestly say it pulled great. It seems like the sweet spot for my diesel truck is 68 to 72 mph.

If that's your sweet spot for speed, you may want to look at a tire motor system or upgraded tires on the trailer if you have not already done so. These tires are not rated for extended higher speeds, and I will not claime I have not hit speeds of 70mph but not for extended periods. The stock tires are known to heat and blow out causing some major damage.

If you do have a blow out, remember get on the throttle and not the break, leave enough power in your ram to give that jolt to pull the trailer back straight the bring her to a slow stop.

Glad you like the combination, love my ram 5er combo as well!

Just added the TPMS to our 2014 Silverback 33RL....will put it on the highway with the monitoring system for the first time Wednesday heading to Nashville for the FROG rally.

Thanks didn't know that the st tires were rated for 65, will definitely keep the speed down until I replace these tires. Just came home from a weekend trip with my DH and I counted over a dozen rvs on interstate with blowouts, one even came unhooked and was on the feeder road. Couldn't get my Vette over 65 with all the congestion and police working traffic. Just going to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

A bet would be "aged" tires and/or a combo of heat and speed or air pressure or just bad luck. Many folks travel on old tires. Bad choice!!
