Radio Antenna 33ik

My radio won't pick up a single AM radio station. Yet the FM bands work fine. I took the radio out to see if there is an antenna connection which there is. When I unplug it I loose the FM bands. Anyone know where this antenna ties in. I don't see an antenna external on the trailer other then the TV unit. Does the Jenson radio have an internal AM antenna? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not positive but I think the radio in my 35ik is connected to the King Jack.

Try turning off all led lights in the living room. Our 2017 Rockwood couldn't pickup any AM if lights were on.

Our CC has an external antenna that can be extended on the outside wall to the tv. Small blank box with antenna.

The antenna is outside on the kitchen wall slide. Get a step stool its toward the rear the antenna is hinged and extends about 6 to 8 inches.

Hi,

I had miserable reception on my 33RL Silverback, until I discovered a trick.

I had an old clip on wire antenna from a short wave radio, and as an experiment I attached it to the stubby outside antenna. Let it dangle to the ground. The result was immediate and dramatic improvement in AM reception.

As a further experiment, I learned that six feet of wire with an alligator clip, snapped on to the end of the stubby antenna, accomplished the same thing.

FWIW.

This is what I have discovered. The radio antenna is hooked up to the king jack TV antenna through the same booster as the tv. This is why I get excellent fm reception. There is no other external antenna on the unit. If I am disconnected from shorepower and powering from the batteries only the am stations work fine. The converter or something AC powered in the trailer is causing interference. I am not sure if there is a solution or way to isolate. I might try a separate unpowered antenna to see if that isolates.

We listen to AM all the time.
We dry camp a lot, where there's no tv signal.
So AM is where we get news and other stuff.

We're upset that our new TT's Jensen doesn't pick up AM.
