It is not that you are going to out run the signal, the problem is the transmitter is not strong enough. Most units will do fine with line of sight or short distances. Most rigs are 32 to 40 feet plus TV also signal must penetrate the rig plus the TV both witch have metal making it hard for the low wattage transmitter to get the signal thru. So I moved my transmitters closer to the cab of TV by placing them at the front of the 5th wheel unit.
I understand that. But some earlier posts indicated these are "OK for backing, but not going down the road." I don't understand why. If it works "well enough" for backing, why not going down the road?

There are two things to consider. For cameras that are OK backing up but NOT OK going down the road, the reason is the transmitter is just powerful enough to span the distance but the videoprocessor is the monitor is not powerful enough to keep up with the fast changing scene. That is why the "observation" setup that Furrion sells has Both an additional antennae on the monitor AND a different more powerful, single threaded processor that eliminates dropouts and freezes.

I have not tried the new camera driving down the road, will do that August the fifth. The monitor on this one has a antenna on the monitor, anyway this one works.

Furrion is replacing my system for the model 48. All for free. I cannot be happier.
