Refridgerator problems

If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all! It has been 1 year this week from our maiden voyage with our Cedar Creek. Get set up and realize that our fridge is not cooling. Man, what a pain. Compressor does not seem to be kicking on.
This is a residential whirlpool fridge that runs of an inverter while we are traveling. I did forget to cut it off when we arrived and had the camper plugged in to shore power for about a half an hour before remebering. Would this cause issues with the fridge. Any ideas other than taking it back for service? Really need my fridge for the week!!!!!

if the freezer is getting cold but the fridge is warm its the whirlpool refrig. open the freezer door, when its on you should hear a fan, if you don't call whirlpool. in my cast the freezer section would freeze up than go into defrost over and over but the fridge never got cold. they replaced the cheap fan made in china with a U.S replacement fan and no more problem

You might want to look at the iPhone app "RV Chek". I use it every time whether loading up or before pulling out so that I don't get complacent or forgetful & do something I'll regret like leaving the antenna up (Sat antennas are not cheap & I'm sure it would wreck a good roof if it were to strike something like a large tree or bridge.

You can build from a master checklist or build your own. I have one for each phase of the RV operation. Call me annal, but as I get older, its easy to forget the little things that can lead to
very bad headaches, besides I like paying only once for anything.

Hope this helps, enjoy your Creek, travel safe & enjoy the journey!

The inverter and shore power are made to work in unison if SP is available the inverter stands by.

Thanks, guys! Good to know that the inverter and shore power can be running at the same time. The freezer will only get down to 45-50 degrees and the fridge is around 60+...
The fan is running and I can feel the air moving. Wondering if it might be the thermostat? Hope it is not the compressor...
How can you check the thermostat?

Most refers have a small coolling fan near the compressor in order to help cool the compressor , if dirt or lint builds up around the fan ...it will stick and them compressor gets hot and trips the internal overloads on the compressor. Thus, the unit doesn't cool enough.

If the compressor is not running, it could be the defrost thermostat. Unfortunately, they are sometimes on the back of the refer. If the compressor is running and it is not cooling, it is most likely a Freon leak or a bad compressor. Good luck!
