Refrigerator issues

We have a 2016 Silverback Cedar Creek 29RE, everytime we are dry camping in the national forest our refregiator turns off in the early morning hours. When we try to turn it back on it takes a few minutes to turn on. Has anyone had this problem? Could it be the elevation? It stays on during the day just at night it turns off.

Since you are dry camping how do you charge your batteries during the day?

So maybe in the early morning your batteries are low and your refrigerator shuts down due to low voltage. You need to check your voltage when it happens and before recharging. It will tell you if that is the issue.

I hear Honda generator by day, and running off the 4 batteries the rest of the time.

X2 what Fonzie says.

Maybe you're running too much off the batteries before you call it a night.

Our refregiator runs off of propane not electric. The pilot goes out in the early morning and then it takes a few times for it to light. It only goes off during the nigt.

I'm new with my 2016 Rockwood Signature 8289WS (30AMP). Last weekend was my first weekend camping (in a state park). It seems like my refrigerator was not cooling enough. It was "pack" I can tell you that. My wife was so excited that she brought food for an army. Anyway, it never cool enough. I'm concern about it. It was too much food? I didn't plug it in the night before our trip, I have to say that. We live in Tampa, FL. Right now temp are high 90's. Any comments?

We have always turned it on the night before. I've learned not to pack it full, the freezer as well it seems to stay colder when not packed.

The fridge works using 12 volts when running on propane.

Do you have a meter to measure your battery output?

How do you know? Do you get a check LED? The pilot light is the the light. There is nothing more than a pilot light to heat the element. Maybe it is at temp and does not need to be on because the fridge is at temp.

What do you do to make it light that takes several attempts. Who is watching the pilot light during this time?

The check light on the refregiator comes on to let you know that it's not on. Turn it off and back on and you can hear the pilot trying to lite. Do these several times and it will finally light.

That makes sense. You do this before you run the generator?

Your propane regulator may be freezing up.

Have you tried to light any other propane appliances when you are experiencing the problem with your refrigerator? Such as... will the stove light?

Just trying to determine if it is a control problem or a propane supply problem.

To make sure it is not regulator freezing, you would have to try stove as soon as refrigerator acts up (shuts down) as regulator will defrost once propane stops flowing and will resume normal function.....
