You can go to Valterra's site and download the instructions if you want to see how it's done.

I thought with the Cedar Creek all you had to do was take a panel off to get to the dump valves

Is anyone using a Valterra solid wire cable to operate a Bristol valve?

How do you know if it's solid cable or not? We have a 2013 Forest River 337FB and when we tried to attach the drain hose to empty the tanks today, we found out the hard way that our waste water valve was leaking. EWWW! (I'm thanking the good Lord for my hubby who was there to handle that mess.)
The rod looks like it does not go all the way in at the panel.
Not sure what our next step should be. I'm starting to realize the value of hotels.

Valves

The Bristol cable drain valves are a braided wire while the Valterra is a solid cable.

I just installed the Valterra electric black tank valve. Not cheap but tired of leaking cable operated valve.

You should start out by installing a spin on valve at the end of the sewer connection. Very simple install you just twist it on where the sewer hose connects. With this installed you will never get another poop shower. It also will work as an emergency shut-off in the event a valve sticks open. Best $15.00 you can spend.

Agree whole heartily with GOTTOYS. I will never go without the auxiliary valve on the holding tank connection.

The rod is not supposed to go all the way in. Should show about 1/4 inch or so.
