Residential refrigerator storage

Ok. I have a question that should be simple to answer. When in storage how do you keep the refrigerator doors open to prevent mold and mildew from occurring? Do you simply leave them stand open? I know with the propane/electric RV fridges they provided standoff plates to keep them open or you could buy a standoff attachment to do the job.

My old standoff device will not fit the new fridge in the RV.

Thanks in advance.

OK Your subject reads RESIDENTIAL fridge. If that is true, Turbs response is not appropriate. I used a piece of foam cut in a U shape to fit in the freezer and fridge. This held both doors open about an inch. If you make a longer travel lock (screw & washer) you can travel with them open.

I put Velcro straps on the doors as the screw lock was not working well for us (too hard for DW to install)... So when not in use I just drop a tissue box into the door and Velcro...
