Rim Valve Stem Lock Nut

We recently updated from a 2012 Sabre 31CKTS to a 2016 CC 38FB2. We really like the Cedar Creek.

I was removing my TST air pressure monitors, to replace the batteries. I noticed that the nut on the stem was loose. I checked the other nuts and one other rim also had a loose locking nut.
I wanted to post this to give people a heads up on this issue. I never really thought to checked these before. It could be just on my trailer. But 2 loose nuts?

I guess I really need to update my user name.

I had one loosen up also. Once I tightened it up, it had a very slow leak resulting in replacement of the valve stem.

I really didn't apply much torque to the nut. Used a 14mm socket on 3/8 drive ratchet, and tighten with the head ratchet and just snug them up slightly. Didn't have a in-lb specification, and wasn't sure where to find it.
There is a soft washer under the nut and didn't want to crush it to much. Will keep a eye on them in the future.

Get a small drop of blue Loctite onto those nuts and a re-occurrence is unlikely.

Mine went on my right front...missing nut entirely. Had blow out and was lucky we weren't going at highway speed when it blew. Ditto the message...it ain't nuts to check your nuts.

While doing my "pre-flight" inspection before we left Virginia Beach in August, I found three of them loose. One of them was so bad that we had to have the valve stem replaced.....apparently not an uncommon problem
